I bring gentle wisdom to those who ask
I nurture connection with the natural world,
and be with you on your journey.
I guide you back to yourself, through the darker parts
I am familiar with it, so don’t you worry
My roots are long and strong, I know the dark and dirt
I am rooting for you in your quest to find those exiled parts
and when you meet the answers to your humble questions.
I am gentle, though very strong
I am resilient and won’t give up,
as you dive deeper and collect the fragments of your soul.
I am honest, and respectfully yours as I help you see
When you want to see and want to know.
I am well known for my long roots
And the courage that I bring
so I can go deep with you
Until you yourself are rooting in something new
that complements who you are
releasing what no longer serves
to re-connect and grow
I am burdock.

Burdock's extensive root system represents its deep grounding properties, making it an ideal partner in our trauma healing journey. Its other ancient properties include clarity, removing negative energies, courage, protection, and purification.
Burdock invites us to root inside ourselves and to clear trapped energy and can be incorporated into potions, ritual baths, incense, and amulets. Think of adding a dash of Cinnamon who brings the wonderful quality of stabilising energies if you wish to use Burdock's help in your trauma healing.

Let's get started:
Bring the water with the burdock root and cinnamon stick to a boil.
Reduce the heat and let it simmer for around 25 minutes.
Strain the tea into cups and add your preferred sweetener to taste.
Either enjoy it warm or let it cool down and store it in the fridge for a hot day.
